Nolans Rare Earths Project

Nolans Rare Earths project

Australian company Arafura Rare Earths Limited (Arafura) is focused on the development of rare earth minerals, particularly neodymium and praseodymium (NdPr), at its Nolans Project, located 135 km from Alice Springs. These elements are crucial for various technologies, including electric vehicles and wind turbines. The company is aiming to become a leading global supplier of NdPr oxide, produced at the mine site.

Nolans is one of the world’s largest undeveloped Neodymium and Praesodymium resources and plans to be Australia’s first fully integrated mining and rare earth separation project. The deposit has the potential to contribute up to 4% of the world’s magnet rare earths supply.

The Nolans Project is fully permitted and is ready to commence construction in September 2026 after reaching a final investment decision in May 2026.

Arafura has already completed A$40 million early site works to de-risk the project schedule, including access roads and accommodation, and has signed a gas supply agreement.

Arafura secured one of the largest debt packages for an Australian critical minerals project, comprising US$775 million in senior debt from Australian, Canadian, Korean and German government-backed lenders and commercial banks, supplemented by an US$80 million cost overrun facility and up to US$200 million in standby liquidity support.

Arafura has secured binding offtake agreements with Hyundai Motor Company and Kia (South Korea), Siemens Gamesa (Germany), Traxys Europe SA (Luxembourg) and Traxys North America LLC (United States), with additional non-binding offtake as part of the Australian Critical Minerals Strategic Reserve.

Arafura will continue to raise equity to support the development of Phase 2 concurrently with construction of Australia's first mine-to-oxide facility.
